Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center lies in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, bordering Malibu.  In what was once the area of a Chumash village.  The Visitor Center offers interactive exhibits and a 20-min film on the history of the area.  The Visitor Center store carries an assortment of merchandise focusing on the Santa Monica Mountains, including a section devoted to Native Americans.  Special programs and events are offered throughout the year.
