Walker River Paiute Tribe

The Walker River Paiute Tribe, the Agai-Dicutta Numu (Trout Eaters People), is headquartered in Schurz, Nevada, on the Walker River Reservation. Each year on the third weekend of September the tribe hosts its Annual Pinenut Festival and Blessing, a time-honored homecoming when tribal members return and Native people from many nations gather for the Pine-nut Blessing Ceremony, featuring respected singers and traditional songs.

The 2026 festival runs September 17-20, with the powwow beginning the evening of September 18. The weekend is packed with activities for all ages: a talent show, powwow, fun run, kids' games, Indian car contest and parade, horseshoe and arm wrestling contests, stick games, a cradleboard contest, and a free barbecue. Camping is available for traveling visitors, and the tribal gymnasium is opened for shower facilities.

Events on this page are shared from the Nevada's Indian Territory calendar (nevadasindianterritory.com).
