The University of Nevada, Reno welcomes Native communities to its campus each spring for the annual University of Nevada, Reno Powwow, a presidential event coordinated by the Multicultural Center through its Indigenous Student Services program in collaboration with the local Native community. Dancers in regalia, drum groups, local food vendors, and Native artists fill the day, which also features the crowning of Mr. and Miss University of Nevada, Reno Powwow. The 2026 powwow takes place April 4, 2026, from noon to 5 p.m.

The campus also hosts the Gathering of the People - Youth Gathering of Native Americans on March 28, 2026, a day for Native youth ages 11-20 with resource tables, raffles, and provided meals; space is limited and registration is required.
