The Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum in Carson City preserves and shares the history of the Stewart Indian School and the cultures of Great Basin Native peoples. Admission is free, and the museum is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In 2026 the museum's Great Basin Native Artist Gallery presented "Basketry: Resilience, Beauty, and Ingenuity of the Great Basin," an exhibition of Native basketry on view January 22 through June 30, 2026.

Each June the campus hosts the beloved Stewart Father's Day Powwow — held June 19-21 in 2026 — where American Indian dancers, drummers, artists, and crafters from across northwestern Nevada have gathered every year since 1990 to celebrate tribal heritage and honor their ancestors with three days of dancing, arts and crafts, food, and stories.
