The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony's powwow grounds in Hungry Valley (501 Many Nations Road, Sparks, NV), nestled in scenic Eagle Canyon about 19 miles north of Reno, host the colony's signature annual celebration.

Numaga Indian Days, held Labor Day weekend — August 28-30, 2026 — is a free, family-friendly powwow and handgames tournament that draws champion dancers, singers, and drummers from across North America, competing for a total purse of $18,000. Professional handgame players battle for championship titles, and over 50 vendors sell Indian tacos, traditional foods, silverwork, beadwork, baskets, and other American Indian art.

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to try powwow dancing during inter-tribal songs. Visitors should bring chairs, shade, water, and cash; dry camping with showers is available at the grounds.
