The Nevada Museum of Art at 160 West Liberty Street in downtown Reno is Nevada's premier art museum and a regular venue for Native arts programming in the Great Basin.

On April 25-26, 2026, the museum presents Threads of Tradition, a gathering organized by the Great Basin Native Basketweavers Association celebrating 25 years of the GBNBA. The association works to revive, enhance, and promote the traditional art of basket making handed down throughout the Great Basin region, whose weaving traditions span the Washoe, Shoshone, Northern and Southern Paiute, and neighboring tribes. The community day features demonstrations, talks, performances, and vendor booths with Indigenous art, baskets, jewelry, and crafts, and is free and open to the public.

The museum has also hosted celebrations such as the 2024 unveiling reception for the California National Historic Trail poster by artist Cassandra Garback of the Pyramid Lake Paiute and Te-Moak Tribes.
