Lidas Summit

Lida Summit, near the small community of Lida in Esmeralda County, Nevada, is a traditional gathering place in the pinyon country of the western Great Basin. The Timbisha Shoshone Tribe, a federally recognized tribe with deep ties to the Death Valley region, gathers here for its Summer Pinenut Blessing.

The blessing, held at Ed's Campground at Lida Summit, is a time to offer prayers, sing, dance, and bring good thoughts for the pine nuts as they grow through the summer months. The gathering is open to all communities near and far, with singers and dancers invited to take part; the 2025 event was held August 15 with lunch provided.

Events on this page are shared from the Nevada's Indian Territory calendar (nevadasindianterritory.com).
