The Kenneth Crawford Gymnasium in Owyhee, Nevada, is a community gathering place on the Duck Valley Indian Reservation, home of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes. The reservation spans the Nevada-Idaho border in the high desert of the Great Basin, and the gymnasium hosts community celebrations throughout the year.
Each fall, the community comes together here for the Duck Valley Veterans Powwow, held around Veterans Day to honor veterans and the strong tradition of military service among Native Americans. Visitors can experience traditional singing, drumming, dancing, and regalia that help preserve the heritage and traditions of the Shoshone-Paiute people.
The next Duck Valley Veterans Powwow is scheduled for November 6-7, 2026.
