The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation is a federally recognized tribe located at 1 Kwaaypaay Court in El Cajon, California, in the foothills east of San Diego. The tribe's annual Sycuan Pow Wow, held on the reservation along Dehesa Road, brings together tribal members, dancers, and drums from across the nation.

The powwow features contest dancing in all categories, with all drums and dancers welcome. Recent editions have been held in early September, with calendar listings showing September 4-6, 2026; the tribe has also indicated the powwow may move to spring, so visitors should confirm dates with the tribe before traveling.
