Great Basin Indigenous Women Rising organizes the annual Red Dress Social Powwow in Reno, Nevada, a community gathering that brings awareness to Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) in the Great Basin. Held at the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows at 1300 Foster Drive, the powwow is open to the public and is a sober event.

The 2026 Red Dress Social Powwow took place March 28, 2026, featuring a Red Dress Special, an MMIP Blanket Dance, Old Style Jingle, Women's Fancy, and youth categories, along with Indian tacos served by RSIC UNITY and Native vendors.
